I do a lot of volunteer work. I've gotten many job/job offers through contacts I made doing this. If you think you'd enjoy working in the libraby, then that would be great. If that's not what you'd enjoy, find something similiar to the type of job you want and it will be good experience that you can put on your resume.

When people first start out looking for work they complain their resume is very slim, too slim in fact.

Every little thing helps. Customer service jobs are good as well as volunteer work.

When you volunteer they can write you a reference or act as your referee, which can make a big difference.

Choose your volunteer work carefully, they are many volunteer opportunities, and they give you opportunites to meet people, feel good about yourself, learn and give someone to the community.

Do a search for volunteer work on the Internet and see what is available.

Also don't be shy to ask some local companies to give you some opportunities for work experience, as this can help you as well.

you should volunteer for the right reasons, not to look good on your resume. I dont think it will help your resume, but it may help your self esteem
