men don't either. Their minds have destroyed them and us.Personally, as far as me and a relationship goes I will never trust again.So why obey???

In wedding vows OBEY does not mean the man can boss the women around and she does what he says. However it does mean that a women is to submit to her husband, but there are boundaries.
Way back when, Men did all the work and supported the family the women had no right to question the mans authority and whatever he said was law, but times have changed. Women are now equal to men and they have in some cases have had to resort to being the "man of the house". This situation has given women the reason to believe that obey does not apply to them when it comes to marriage vows.
The man is the head of the household regardless and biblically speaking women are to honor and obey there husbands like it or not. Sorry.
THAT DOES NOT MEAN FOR MEN TO HIT OR ABUSE THEIR WIFE IN ANY WAY BECAUSE SHE DOES NOT DO AS YOU SAY.

The word obey has never been uttered in any wedding vows of all the weddings I've ever been to.. And trust me, I've been to my fair share, I have a big family... But besides, getting married doesn't grant you the right to boss your spouse around... love and HONOR... thus respect them, the same way you think you should automatically be respected.

When you said I dos, its doesn't says that the women are going to obey everything you said. They have a mind of their own. That's why its call mariage you talk, compromise and figure out how to balance each other out. if you want someone that obeys you then go get a barbie doll.

I believe it's LOVE HONOR AND CHERISH!! If you what something to obey..........get a dog dude!! and good luck! That's part of the vows that no longer! Til death do you part has been scratched out from some vows also. Times is a changin'. Issues man. you got issues!!!

In the bible you are both supposed to submit unto each other. Not one obeying the other. And it's 100 perent/100percent, not 50/50 or it won't work.

The other part of that goes for men too. Men are to love their wives as Christ loved the church. How many husbands love their wives enough to die for them?

women aren't Stepford wives. We listen to our husbands when they have something important to say.....not when it is something irrelevant. Same thing applies to men...they take the same vows and I know alot of men don't obey their wives either.
