So, I've been taking ritalin since I was 7 [I'm now 18.] and Well, I started drinking coffee last year, but I noticed that everytime I drank coffee I felt really sick. I'm sitting in my dorm room now- and I just realized that I might get sick from coffee because I generally take Ritalin before I drink coffee out of habit. Are there any bad side effects to taking Ritalin and drinking coffee?

No, there are no side effects between coffee and ritalin.

However, everyone is different. Some patients have found that a caffeine and Ritalin combo might increase the effects of either the coffee or the ritalin. Since this is true and ritalin can make you feel nauseaous, especially if taken without food, the coffee may be intensifying this nausea for you. I suggest you try eating before you have your coffee or take your ritalin. Hopefully, that will help. If not, hold off on the coffee until an hour after your ritalin to see if that helps.

I was on Ritalin for 10 years and I noticed that Caffeine seemed to make my Ritalin a little unpredictable (how much is was going to help me and how long it was going to last). Does other Caffeine do that to you?

Maybe your making really bad coffee. :-) Do your friends feel sick when they drink you coffee? LOL

Seriously, I doubt the combo is causing this but just try to experiment. Start a journal/chart and see if you can correlate the feelings with what you take. It could be something you typically eat with the coffee.

Ritalin and caffeine are probably not a good combination. Honestly, I don't know enough about sea kelp to comment on it.
