Will LaHaye & Jenkins be "Left Behind"?

As well as all of the other big Christian multi-millionares that are peddling the Gospel of Christ for a buck?

I hear so many of my fellow Christians praise so many of the big money makers as wonderful men and women of God, yet I still can't seem to find one Bible passage in the New Testament where Jesus peddles the Gospel for a buck!

I did find this though:

Acts 8:18-20 "And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money."

Ok... You threw the "With God all things are possible" loophole at me. So explain this one away with that same loophole:

Luke 16:13 "No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

Or this one:

Luke 6:24 "But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation."

Does that loophole explain this one away:

Luke 18:22 "Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me."

Next excuse?

So many are missing the question and busy defending avarice!

I am talking about the specific people that are turning a buck on the Gospel. You can quote the "eye of a needle" and "hard not impossible" all day, but that does not address the question of those that are using the Gospel of Jesus Christ to MAKE THE MONEY in the first place.

nosnod: No. I am saying that those that are turning a buck on the Gospel are going to hell. The Bible is clear on the acquisition of wealth. Not just in the needle/camel line, but in many places. Will the rich get into Heaven? Not likely according to verses other than the needle/camel loophole for which the expression taken figuratively makes it possible. But to take God at His word that He says what he means, and means what He says? Then yes, no rich man enters. There are too many verses that expound on wealth beyond the camel/needle figurative loophole.

Where in the Bible (OT & NT) did Jesus/God/Holy Spirit approve of the limosine, lear jet, rolex & versace believers?

Jesus had nothing but bad things to say about the rich: they couldn't enter heaven any more than a camel could pass thru a needle's eye; in order to be perfect, one must sell all of one's possessions and THEN follow Jesus; one must not accumulate treasures on Earth, but only in heaven. In the parable of Lazarus and the rich man, the only reason given for the rich man being in hell is because he was rich, not because he sinned; and the only reason Lazarus went to heaven is because he was poor. Apparently, their spiritual condition wasn't important, since it wasn't mentioned.

NOWHERE did Jesus say that you can have lots of money as long as you don't LOVE money. What a moronic idea! Why else would you want to be rich? Jesus clearly expected his followers to live a life of poverty. He thought he would be returning soon, and they wouldn't need riches in his kingdom. Modern Christians don't even attempt to live as if they expect Jesus to arrive any minute now; they do exactly the opposite, living as if they will be on Earth a long time and must accumulate as much as they can before they die.

I am really not worried about rich people and Jesus. I do know that many rich people do not see a need to have God in their lives at all, but He didn't say they "cannot" enter the Kingdom of God. He said that it was easier for a camel (some say camel's hair rope) , to go through an eye of a needle, or 'it is hard' .

So from the translations that I read, it isn't impossible.

Wow, I think you just translate the verse literally.

Bible says the rich man cannot enter heaven. But it mean the rich that just love his wealthiness, not for a God. There is nothing wrong to be rich, but one must use his money for something good, as a tool, to love God and obey Him more and more.

It is better to be rich than to be poor, because the rich can make the world a better place, they can feed hungry children, they can build a church, a holy place to worship God.

If you think the poor always can enter heaven, just think about this : poor people tend to be a criminal because they are facing difficult condition, being a good but hungry and hopeless, or being a bad but survive. They think steal and rob is the easy way to survive.

Please try to understand Bible through a priest, or a Bible studying community, they can explain the verses more clearly and wisely.

The bible says it is difficult for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God it doesn't say that they can't. The disciples asked than who can enter? Jesus answered with man things are impossible but for God all things are possible. Just make sure that you are doing the right thing & God will take care of the rest. Peace & Love in Jesus!!!

No, they'll be taken with all the rest of the chaff.Don't find pretrib. position Biblical. And I agree about the rich being on shaky ground.Too many people rationalize wealth by saying they don't love it.They miss the point that it is the root of all evil, and having great wealth leads to temptations and is more burdernsome than being stricken with financial problems throughout life.

I see your point however, ONLY God knows the heart of man. He is the ultimate judge.

Our job is to:
deny our selves
pick up our cross
and follow Jesus

We do see that the love of money is the root of all sorts of evil.

In the Bible we see that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven, but not impossible.

We just need to do our job and leave Judgment to the perfect and Righteous Judge.

My friend, rich people go to Heaven just like poor people. Infact the Bible says: God will supply our needs according to the riches in glory. Now I understand that the streets are paved with Gold! And I am far from being rich with money, but I am rich in the Lord!

The Bible doesn't say a rich man cannot enter heaven. It says that it's very difficult, but with God, all things are possible.

You come into this world naked - you leave it naked. If your wealth was amassed though unscrupulous ways, it will perish. Leave the money to your relatives. That always has a way of defining who makes to heaven, and who doesn't. If you are worried about that, set up a foundation and leave it to your faithful dog.

You are stretching the gospel beyond its limits. They state that it is very difficult for a wealthy man to enter the kingdom of God - but not impossible.

Who says that LaHaye is attempting to BUY his salvation?

I am not personally a LaHaye fan BUT no one can judge LaHaye et al EXCEPT GOD HIMSELF.

AND HE WILL
