I'm sorry for going off earlier today. It's just that we as Muslims are told that it's the fault of every single one of us, including babies, for what happened years ago. Muslims don't hold the crusades or any other history against entire groups, and the majority of us condemn what the extremists did and are doing. I should not have lumped everyone together like that. I apologize to those I offended. I am only human, afterall. Generally I'm a very accepting person. Anyone of any belief/nonbelief can be my friend if their personality is good. My best friend is an atheist and she's just awesome, and we'd jump to defend each other even if we didn't agree with what each other said. Same goes for any other person who I call my friend. They know who they are. And yes, Kerilyn and Tash, you are included because you've wondered before about this.

Again, I apologize. I was out of line for my words.

O ye who believe! be steadfast in the cause of God, bearing witness in equity; and let not a people's enmity incite you to act otherwise than with justice. Be always just. That is nearer to righteousness. And fear God. Surely, God is Aware of what you do.

I missed the earlier part, but I expect whatever you said may have been influenced by the stress of this day, 9-11.

Peace. It's nice of you to be willing to apologize for words you regret.

I don't hold babies to blame for anything, BTW.

But I will say I don't get it. What is it that you find appealing about the religion of Islam when it leads to such violence? I know even Christianity has had its bad spots, such as the Crusades, but if you look at the two religions over history throughout the world, Christianity has done more good and Islam has done more harm.

More to the point, the religion of Islam promotes harm and hatred. Christians want everyone to be saved, but they respect people's right to choose, and don't advocate killing all "infidels" like Islam does.

If you contrast nations based on Christian government with nations based on Muslim government, the difference is pretty clear. Christianity promotes human rights and freedoms; Islam says destroy all opposition and quiet all other views. Have you ever really thought about that?

I'm not asking to be rude or insulting; I really want to know. I just don't understand why some one would choose what seems to me to be such a very unappealing religion. Did you choose it for yourself or did you just sort of grow up into it and then keep it as an adult?

Thanks for answering, and I intend no offense.

My son and daughter, 11 & 13, sometimes querl with eachother, they remain angry for a while and then mingle with eachother again.
I tell them temporary fight between brothers and sisters is just normal.

So don't worry sister, be happy.

That's OK :) Everyone has a snapping point and considering some of the rudeness you cop around here, I'd say your tolerance threshold is pretty high...higher than most.
I didn't want you to go...I'd have missed you :(

I can't believe that you did that.
of course i was not on earlier, so i don't know what you are refering to, but you have always been so thoughtful and understanding, that I find it hard to believe you would do anything that you needed to apologize for.
I am sure that you were provoked.

Your right everyone lumps people together at some point. So why get mad that people are doing it to you?

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." ~ Edmund Burke

THAT is what's wrong with Islam... the GOOD people of Islam do NOTHING... while the EVIL people of Islam are going around 'doing the work of Allah'... by torturing and murdering innocents.
