Paul was educated by the famous rabbi Gamaliel. He was the leader of the Jews in Jerusalem, sent over as a persecutor to Damascus. Paul hears Christ and does the opposite for no reason? Doesn't make sense for the reason you say. Had Paul not taken the Lord's mission he could not have done what he did. See Acts 5:34.
Verses 38 & 39 is very important also.

You are either a troll, or you need to go easy on the Slivovitz.
It's a skirmish, but your word for it is pretty funny.
EDIT: I have considered your question from alternate perspectives, and now understand that you not trolling so much as being, say, dedicated and resourceful.
However, the responses here reflect how far-fetched this theory appears.
Saul/Paul, Rabbi, wouldn't intentionally trick people like that. He did not think he was leading people into falsehood. Too deceitful and cruel for such a man.
Proposing such logistical frameworks can become a slippery slope, leading to attempts to discredit the motives and missions of other sages and prophets.

No.
What Paul did was show everyone why God told the Jews that they wouldn't believe in the Messiah. And He did that very well.
You see, the Jews were prophesied by God to not believe. Even way back in the time of Moses!
So us Christians do not look for the Jews to understand any of this, but only a remnant. And with a remnant, that is always how God worked, remember?
God also prophesied that the Jews would one day know, that occurs in Zechariah 14. But will you believe it?

Are you talking about Paul whose name was Saul before God changed him and his name?
I believe he was spreading the word to anyone who would listen.

Paul gave his life for His Lord and Savior. Now who would die for a lie?
WOULD YOU?

What **are** you babbling about??
P.S. That's "skirmish", not "squirmish". "Skirmish" is a scuffle; "squirmish" is what you get when you eat worms.
