There is no real disadvantage for the electric fans. Look at many of the newer cars--that's all they have. Disadvantage of a stock belt driven fan is that it's not very efficient when stopped. I have a '69 w/351C (swap) and had the same problem when I first built it. It used to boil over at stops. I installed 3-row radiator meant for a big-block, replaced the stock fan with high perf fan (no clutch), added a fan shroud and added 2 small electric fans.. It still ran on the hot side at traffic jams, but temp rise was delayed long enough for traffic to start moving. No more boiling over. Also, I agree with increasing the idle speed a little. That also helped.

It gives no advantage, a four core Ford Racing Radiator is a much better choice, the stock cooling system on a mustang Barely gets the job done, if you add "Mod's", Fuggetaboutit !

I believe the taurus fans will work also. Otherwise My BeCool has worked very well and pulls a lot of air. There are several others that I've seen on people cars that work well, but its a matter of fit and finish. Good luck and you can go to www.corral.net for some tech info.

I picked one up from the junkyard and wired in a relay. I have mine setup to run as soon as i turn the key to the on position. If you don't like that idea there are adjustable thermostats you can wire in to have it come on at a specific temp.. I think the whole setup ran me about $30.
Min came off a Taurus if i remember right.

you can use a lincoln mark 8 electric fan if you wnat a cheap one but remember a 3g altenator upgrade is a must for the electrical system to work right or you wont have enough juice to run it correctly (3g alts came factory on 94-95 gts)

Well buying one is no problem--getting it in and wiring the thing is another. Do it wrong or have it turn on when you least expect it--goodbye fingers
