Zander is a cat name! (lol)

Dog naming can take a while.

Its a good enough name, but does the dog like it? What really matters is if it works for the dog, and you don't mind yelling it in public.

Zander is a actually species of fish but would make a really cute name for a doggy.

I DO like it ... it's a sharp-sounding two-syllable name with the emphasis on the first syllable ... exactly the kind of name a dog pays attention to when you're outside yelling for him at the top of your lungs (KIDDING) ... but seriously, it's distinctive and it's easy to say. And you'll be saying it many, many, MANY times!

It's unusual...I like it. Not a typical dog name. I like hearing names that are creative.....like Zander.

Yes, that sounds like a great name for a dog. Just to be sure, imagine yourself calling him out loud in your neighborhood. If it sounds right, go for it.
