I tried Salvation Army, but, it seems like , I don't know, I was just starting to pudge out. Then I went to the Catholic charities, and , well you get tired of eating wafers all the time, and you never know if they have nuts in them, so I was thinking, maybe I will try the Atheist soup kitchen, I hear they have a Scientific weight loss program.

You would probably lose weight because I don't see a lot of Atheists running soup kitchens, apparently the poor, hungry and homeless are best left to the religious.

Yeah, you probably will.

I know you are joking, but there have been atheist soup kitchens, or at least atheist distribution of food. It was called the Diggers, and during the hippie era, they went around to restaurants and grocery stores and got them to give them the food they would otherwise throw away. (The story that they "dug in the dumpsters" was exaggerated, but did give them their name.) Then they'd go to Tompkins Square Park (New York) or the panhandle of Golden Gate Park (San Francisco) and hand out the food. Probably did it in other cities, too.

Whatever happened to the Diggers?

Not really - you can skip dinner safely, but not having anything for lunch is no good if you want to lose weight and remain healthy. Have the soup for lunch and you should be OK.

Sure, but we generally serve the good stuff, not mystey broth and balogna. Chili is a favorite when we do actually serve soup instead of the normal well balanced, healthy meal.

And we won't try to make you sell your soul to the Devil OR God as payment like the other places do.

It's because the atheist soup kitchens don't serve their soup with magical manna bread like the christians do.
