A very good spanish dessert...is FLAN a breve history about this dessert it came from spain a custard like dessert made by nouns now very popular throught out many places in the world variation are creme caramel and famous crene brulee from france the only difference is FLAN has the caramel in the bottom instead of the top here is a very easy and quick recipe.
CoCoNuT FlaN
1 1/2 cup of sugar
1 cup of half-n-half
5 lg eggs
1(13.5 oz) coconut milk
1 1/2 tbsp of vanilla extract
Method of prep
Gather all the ing (mise n plus)
get 6 ramikinks or baking molds
In a sauce pan melt half of the sugar till carmelized
place the carmelized sugar in the molds inmediately
meanwhile pre-heat oven at 325 F (temp is very important )
in a mixing bowl wisk eggs, vanilla and remaining sugar and combine
in a seperate pan warm up the half-n-half,coconut milk doesnt have to boil
then (very important) temper the eggs with the milk mixture this is done by adding part the warm milk to the eggs so they dont coagulate and get cooked before its time!!!
once this is done divide into the the carmelized sugar molds
cook at 325 F for an Hour in a water bath!!!(Very important)Note: when makin the water bath just fill around the molds about 3/4 to the top so water wont boil and ruin the dessert!!!
after an Hr remove from oven then chill for another hour
when ready to serve use a thin knive around the edges of the mold flip over onto a individual dessert plate the caramel will drop covering the flan...
Hope u like it is a very simple but yet delicate and tasty dessert!!!

Here's a very simple recipe for Flan that I was given in a cooking class. The "Teacher" was a housewife in English As a Second Language class. The assignment they were given was to teach people to make her home recipe and she had to speak only in English.
Here's the recipe:
1 can Evaporated milk
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg
Mix together the first 4 ingredients. Pour into a casserole dish. Sprinkle the cinnamon or nutmeg over the ingredients. Bake in a preheated 400º oven for 40-45 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
(Normally custard and flans are baked in a water bath but our "Teacher" just put it on the rack in the oven. The texture appeared just a little curdled compared to a normal custard but it was very good - just a little sweet.

flan is goooood. Fried ice cream, too. Flan tastes like a sweet custard, and it can be bout in a box. It has a caramel sauce over it and it hard to make by hand. Buy the box, by the Jello- people.

hola! Im Spanish so I should know. You should stick with the flan but there are lots of different flavors, I prefer the vanilla flan. There is also cheese flan, but I really don't like it. And just to prove that I'm Spanish, Im going to write it again in Spanish. Hola! Yo vivia en una isla llamada Puerto Rico. Quedate con el flan pero escoge el sabor. A mi me gusta flan de vainilla pero tambien hay flan de queso pero a mi no me gusta.Adios.

Flan is delicious. My mom' family is Argentinian, so we eat flan with dulce de leche. Its like caramel you put on top or on the side of the flan, it is sooo good.

Do you mean Spanish (Spain) food or Mexican food?
Your class is Spanish (foreign language)... but are you having a Mexican food party or a Spanish food party?
Because Spanish food and Mexican food is very different.
