What do you want to know?

The M16A3 rifle made by the US is a precision weapon that is routinely accurate out to a range of 500 yards. At that range a man sized target looks to be the size of your fingernail. It is a revolutionary design in that it has the least number of moving parts or serviceable parts; although the trigger mechanism is the same as with most weapons. The stock contains a shock absorbing spring so that in combination with the flash suppressor the weapon has almost zero recoil. It is light easy to use, cheap to make; because it uses a lot of plastic and aluminum. However, due to its tight tolerances it has to be kept clean and jams easily and is a pain in the rear to clean. The A1 model included the forward assist to help clear jammed cartridges into the chamber. It uses the NATO standard 5.62 round

The AK 47 is the most widely used and produced gun. The most widely produced weapon since the bow and arrow. It is made out of stamped parts, all steel and wood and it rattles. It has poor accuracy, but a high rate of fire and you can bury it in sand, pull it out shake it out and fire it. It uses the Soviet standard 7.62 round. The heavier round gives it more impact, more penetration and means the ammo weighs more.

The AK47 is the universal sign of rebels and resistance against repression. Its manufacturing license has been widely distributed and it is a rough and ready weapon. Its rough and ready nature means that it makes a poor snipers weapon. It is normally best fired on automatic to make up for this lack that also allows for the poor training most of its users have.

Both weapons include the classic post sight with a selector switch that goes from safe, to single shot to automatic fire. The M16A3 has a 3 round burst mode to conserve ammunition. Both use 30 round banana clip magazines.

This website has a lot of gun information.

http://www.shotgunnews.com

This site has a lot of buy / sell classified ads and lists gun shows dates /locations. You could go to gun shows and talk to gun dealers about different kinds of guns in person. You should make sure that you have a gun card for your state. For certain types of guns there may be different classifications of licenses required. I think to own some guns you must be dealer card. In some states, I understand that a card may even be required / presented before a gun dealer will even discuss a gun with you. The gun dealers or your state firearms licensing agency can tell you what the requirements are to buy things the legally.
