About how much would the lumber mill have paid for the timber?

See the source. Prices are not "per semi load" but in other units, like board feet or cords. I leave it as an exercise for the reader to calculate the cost per semi load, which will require looking up the definition of a board foot, a cord and the capacity of a semi.

It depends on what kind of lumber it is. How big the load is. Where the load originated from and the destination in which the load is to be taken. It also depends on the lumber itself. How big each tree is etc. There are a lot of factors that play into pricing a load of lumber

Your second responder almost had it right. 80,000 lbs MAX Truck, Trailer, Driver, Freight etc. However, you can haul heavier with special permits. SO, if that trucking company has special permits it could be more than 80,000 lbs, but most likely not. Just because they pull the timbers out of the woods does not mean DOT will not set up portables to bust ya for being over grossed.
