the mindset of the question, is one of humility, understanding the fallen nature of the one asking the question.
In the case of Daniel, no one on earth held more power or sway, he was a living super power,. humble and obedient to the LORD.
Moses, grew into the place, but probably never expressed his thought in writing as I would think by that point he was too busy. Yet he beheld the LORD almost face to face.
the degree to which one has communion with the LORD, would be the degree to which personal sin would grieve them whereby they could even ask such a question without hypocrisy.
True love for God, humbles, communion with Him humbles, yet God (the LORD in the Bible who says you shall have no other before me) exalts.

I had an answer until I read BB's. I have nothing to add now. LOL! Oh, except that I love the quote and the song! :))
PS--We are the beloved children of the Most High God, the apple of His eye, and He has engraven us on the palms of His hands. He loves us unconditionally, equally and without reserve!

Psalms 8 To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David.
"O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
(What is man, that thou art mindful of him)? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all [things] under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth" !
Rev 2:17 "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a (new name) written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Here is what your saying in scripture. I hope it helps.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that "whosoever" believes in Him will have eternal life. I also know that He did know my name before I was formed in my mother's innermost parts, because it is written, as is your slightly paraphrased quote. I was fine with being Whosoever, but I think it is grand that He knows me!

Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart
Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours
Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me
Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours
Beautiful song that goes along with the quote...I love it.

I believe the quote is " who am i that the lord of all the earth would care to know my name/ feel my hurt" and I believe it is so true. Out of all of the people in the world he loves me? a sinner. It is one of those things that people will ponder forever.

I think it is inaccurate. God is the Lord of Heaven and Earth. He Knows all things and manages all things without one thing distracting him from another. He is not like us in any way,

It's not because of what I've done, but because of Who He is.
It's not because of who I am, but because of what He's done.
Other than "above anyone else's", which I'm not 100% certain about, the rest of the words come from a song, part of which I have included above.

You are a child of the most high God. You are everything that Jesus already is, just as He told you.
You are the Messiah.
