We will also have terra cotta floors, on the orange side. A little funky yes, but it's for our finished basement. No beiges or browns or greens, please!

The color(s) of this coutertop are red-brown. Your terra cotta floors will be orange brown. By dismissing beige and brown you also dismiss the very pale yellow or orange beiges, the taupes, etc. Color is a very personal choice, and the only one who can make that decision is you.

I suggest you right click on the countertop image and save it to your computer. Then use the link below to try out different colors, comparing them to the countertop. You could also use PAINT to create and compare colors. Print out a sample of the color you like and tape it to the wall to get an idea of how it will look. Take the sample with you to the paint store. Often the store can use your sample to make the paint, but if not you can probably find a similar color in their paint sample chips. Good luck.

I think pale gold will bring out all the great shades in the countertop, and look good with the terra cotta floors.
My second choice would be ivory; third, peach.

I would choose a blue, like "Tempe Star" by Sherwin Williams.

If you'd prefer a red, check out "foxy."

al2eggs & nancy and i all agree.. a gold tone would bring it all together and give it that pulled together - finished look.

edited: Whoops...Nurse Susan and Allergic to Eggs and I are in agreement.

Sorry Susan!

I think like a greyish/blue would be cool

Specifically, I think the color "Solitude" by Sherwin Williams would be awesome. It is color #6535 and you can check it out by going to http://sherlink.sherwin.com/swapp/search/search.do

Snow white. It will look very contemporary. I am not sure what kind of look you are aiming at. I love the modern feel.
