Everyone says you need to have a personal relationship with God, so to me that means treat Him like your friend. So I do. I told someone that when I go to heaven God and I are going to have a pillow fight (yes, I was kidding) and they got all offended because im disrespectful to God. I dont get it, how so?

Well all I can say is who ever it was you told and then got offended, doesn't know Jesus nearly as well as you do!
Trust me, there will be so many people who will get to heaven and the first thing God will have them do is sit down and take a class in Holy Ghost humor!
You go right ahead and keep looking forward to having that pillow fight! And from now on, when some sour puss tells you you are being disrespectful to God, tell them something like, "I'm sorry you feel that way, but if that is true, then it's up to God to deal with me and not you."

God is a funny God sometimes. That shouldn't offend anyone. Christianity is not a religion at all, it's a relationship with God. God will be coming back to get his people...... And we'll go to Heaven where there's no pain, sorrow or anything. Just happiness. America should be a nation that follows God!

I think that sounds like fun. I wish I had thought of it first.
Of course, the pillow fight would be with Jesus, not God the Father, per se.
I think people see God as some austere old fuddy duddy with no sense of humor.
I think those kinds of people need to look in the mirror and get over themselves.
I think we'll have some great wonderful fun times with our Lord and Savior. He didn't save us just to send us to boredom-ville, ya know.

The good news is that you can be friends with God if you accept Him for who He is and also accept His way.
We are born with hearts that are sinful against Him. To have peace with God and to be His friend, we have to be made right with Him by accepting the death and resurrection of Jesus, God the Son, as the only payment for our sins. God is just and sin has to be paid for.
He is also merciful and made a way in which we could be forgiven. We would have to admit our sinfulness to do this.
Then, God will cleanse us of our sins and help us to live the way He made us to live. We then can have a personal relationship with the merciful, just and holy God, now and for all eternity. That is how we can be friends with God.

who knows? God just might hold you to that pillow fight. I am a Christian and totally believe that God has a sense of humor (things in my own life have shown me this) You have to take the serious ones with a grain of salt because it says in the book of Genesis that God has made us in His image and if we have a sense of humor that means He must have one too!!

We enter into a relationship with God when we seek his truth and God gives us a gift of faith through faith comes revelation from God and a personal relationship with him.

Precious one - Jesus said you CAN be friends...
