For the sake of convenience I use the microwave. Remember tea is never made with boiling water. The water is allowed to cool a little first.

I think Microwave it's more convenient however if you dont know the right amount of time you'll have to keep giving it more time to boil while using the gas stove you just wait for it to boil and just turn it off when it's done.

you can't boil water in a microwave. try heating it for 5 minutes..it won't boil. The water may become superheated though. And the container it's in becomes really really hot.
the only way to boil water is on a stove in a kettle. At least that way you'll know the water is at 212F. In a microwave, you really don't know the temp.
