Because God reads your heart. You know I have heard some people say that they are going to do what ever they want all their life and then just before they die they will ask God to forgive them. Do they honestly think God is that stupid? You can't trick God, he knows everything and READS THE HEART. Too bad those people don't realize how much better their lives would be with God as an active part in their daily lives.

To be perfectly frank, I'm an atheist, so I'll go at this analytically.
Religion is based on faith, not definite evidence of any sort. Thus, one must believe in a god not because of logic-based arguments or empirical evidence, but rather emotionally, as a concept outside of everyday restrictions - in other words, in your heart.
I won't comment on my own personal opinion of the matter, but that's why...

we are a creation that was all creation at one time. we all share the same chemical make up. and if god did truly create us we a creation of him. so everyone of us is in some way a is a part of a higher being like god. so god is in every one of us that means together united we are god. so knowing god you must first unstand youself then others, compassion and understanding is god.

Deep knowledge of God will lead to accepting Him and his gift of eternal life. Knowing God by heart will also promote a life of being guided by Him. This could lead to servanthood.

One cannot truly fathom God and know him by heart. Instead, the heart and soul of a person should be set on following your concience, the voice of God compressed into a portable nagging voice. ;^)
