For photo's of your face and teeth this doesnt matter. If they will be taking xrays, they usually ask that you remove jewellery/hair clips only because they show up on the xray and can cover important parts that they will we looking for. However, tell them its a new piercing and it should be ok to leave it in. It wont cause you any problems by leaving them in (they wont radiate/heat up or anything).

The only reason you would have to take the earring out is if you haven't had your panorex radiograph done. If you are having this done, yeah the earrings got to come out.

Ask someone to help you put the earring back in cause they can see what they are doing. Taking it out for just a couple minutes will be fine. Just might not feel too good. Good luck!

Take it out - I am an RDA and I could never take a panoramic picture with any earings in.. It will sometimes distort the picture.. Call ahead to your dentist & tell him what the situation is... They will guide you through... Good Luck Most dentist make exceptions, let's hope your does..

I only have patients remove hoop earrings or earrings that dangle, because they cast "shadows" on the x-ray image of the teeth. But your orthodontist's office may be a little more picky. You might ask them if they HAVE to be removed and explain the situation. MAYBE they will let you slide.

you can take it out for the few minutes they will need to take the xray and put it right back in. If you had it done a few weeks ago, it's more than healed enough.

the pictures dont take that long.

bring something like a toothpick. I know it sounds gross but that will at least hold it and you may want to sterilize it. (like iwth Peroxide)
