some seem to think that darwin was a some sort of prophet and evolution is some sort of revelation, in other words that it's just another religion. they are misguided, but they are only doing what is sensible in that event: attack the originator, not the followers. they should really address the physical evidence that evolution occurs, which is the whole reason for the existence of the theory of evolution, but i think they've managed to convince themselves that it doesn't exist.
if they are going to rely on quotes they should at least quote people who are currently alive and can defend themselves from misrepresentations of their views.

Science is always changing. Darwinism is an important thing to grasp since many principles in modern evolution theory are based from Darwinism. Why should anyone stop quoting Darwin when Darwinism is still taught?

As an atheist and supporter of the theory of evolution, I would have to say that 'evolutionism' has not really changed since Darwin's original expression of 'his' theory of evolution (he was not the first naturalist to put it forward, by the way). What we have discovered since then is how genes are passed on - the only major flaw in his major work, 'The Origin of Species.' This is the only thing he ever apologized for in his work - the lack of evidence at the time for any scientifically understood method of passing on genes from parent to child (though this trait of genes has been apparent since man has been breeding animals and other domesticaed crops, the method of this tranfer of information was not yet known at the time [The work had been done by Mellener already, but had only been published in a monastic journal {he was a monk} and was not widely known until the beginning of the twentieth century]).
So yes, I believe that creationists should stop misquoting Darwin. Taking snatches of his words out of context is, in my opinion, worse than taking snatches of a work of fiction such as the bible out of context, but even if you regard the bible highly and Darwin as a heretic, his memory should not be soiled by the likes of the lesser (wo)men who, for whatever ridiculous reason, might want to spread lies about him...

It's creationists, were you expecting something new? Of course it's dishonest. Edit: I see where you got the quote from in another question. These people are sad.I fear for the future of our country and the world. Can you imagine waiting creationists or IDer's to actually make a scientific discovery?Especially one that actually helped mankind.

one of their primitive weapons to used against evolutionist.
seriously , i don't really care about what they say about darwin , whether he's lying or not .
big deal ? the most important thing he contribute before he die , is the idea of evolutions.
that's what important , even if darwin DIDNT come up with the idea , sooner or later , due to technology advance in microbiology , someone will think of the idea of evolution.
darwin just merely kickstart the idea. thats all . who care's if he's theory then was false or what .

what they do is low down , it's no different from me saying ' all christian must think that earth didnt revolve around the sun because the 1st christian thought so '

It's the most recent biological information they understand. In a hundred and fifty years, they'll be mis-quoting today's biologists.

I can see that by how much better the tv programs are nowdays. So full of intellect and sophistication. (rolling my eyes)
Seriously, have you watched how much things are disinigrating now days and not evolving? My husband calls it "the dumbing down of America." I bet nobody could build their own house or make their own blankets anymore. And the acting in movies?

Naw, let them continue quoting him. To turn one of their own convoluted bits of logic back onto them, their continued quoting of his words and denial of his work serve to admit he had something. And it scares them...

im sorry, but I just have to laugh at the absurdity of some of the people on here.
Giving us crap for 'believing' and following a 150 year old book.
While they take a 2 thousand year old book literally and word-by-word.
