There is no law that says you cannot tip a cow, but there are many laws about trespassing (which you would need to do, unless it was your property the cow was on) and destruction of property (tipping a cow can break a leg, which is usually serious enough that the owner must slaughter it, making him lose his investment... unless it's your cow).
It's really quite a boring sport... unless you happen to try to tip the bull. Then I hope you can run a four-second fifty-yard dash.

It can not be regulated. Public cow tipping is illegal. You don't see it going on at the rodeo. I think roping is much more abusive. How you going to regulate a tradition?

Maybe. At least it would be trespassing if it was a cow on land belonging to someone else and you didn't have permission of the owner.

I've raised cattle for years and you can't sneak up on them. The question should be is it legal for cattle men to shot at trespassing cow-tippers. Some of them think so.
