I'm tired of people trying to tell others what not to do at their OWN wedding. I grew up with dollar dances and am expected to have one at my wedding. If the guests don't want to participate, they don't have to. No one is forcing them! With that said, i'm changing mine a little. I am having all of the guests that aren't participating still get up to dance then that way they are not sitting at the tables being bored. I also am not serving alcohol but chocolate homemade peanut butter cups(fiances favorite). Since i'm having a bar, i don't want to serve toooo much alcohol. Most shots served are Brandy, Wiskey, Jello Shots and Schnaaps(any flavor). Good luck and have fun!

If you're referring to what are good shots to pass out at the bridal dance, whiskey, schnapps or jello shots are the norm around here.
Your question was a little confusing.

People, please, don't refer to this TRADITION as tacky!!!!!! In some areas of this country it's unheard of not to have a bridal dance. It is not a "money making" thing, just a tradition and is looked forward to at all the weddings in our area!!! Some of you need to get off of your "High Horse" and consider other people's traditions!!

What do you mean "a good shot"?

Song? Dollar amount?

I don't know what you're referring to by 'shot' but I wouldn't participate in a dollar dance at all. They're tacky and trashy.

A shot to the head of anyone who does this...it's a horrible moneygrubbing "tradition."

Your question is confusing. What are you referring to?

Like another poster said, dollar dances are tacky. I would just leave that out.
