So I woke up on Monday and right away my left upper arm was very sore. I thought I slept on it or whatever. Throughout the day I had a hard time moving it. Monday was my day off and I didn't hurt that arm or lift anything that was heavy on Monday or on Sunday. Today I had to go to work and when I woke up my whole body was aching. It's all my muscles. Both arms from elbows up to shoulder blades, through the neck, down my spine and from both knee caps up to my thighs I have horrible pain in my muscles. What could of caused this? I just woke up and there was pain all over my body and no other sympyoms?

You may have a condition known as Fibromyalgia. It often comes on suddenly like what you described.

Here is a brief list of common symptoms of this disease:

Chronic pain throughout the body
Burning, numbness and tingling
Tenderness when pressure is placed on or around the neck, elbows, hips, thighs and knees.
Sleep disorders
Chronic fatigue or exhaustion
Depression
Anxiety
Facial Pain
Jaw Pain (TMJ)
Memory Loss
Irritable Bowel
Tension or Migraine Headaches
High sensitivity to foods and medications (allergic type reaction).
Minimal tolerance to heat and cold
High sensitivity to bright lights and sounds
Hair Loss

Because symptoms develop gradually, this disease is often misdiagnosed. It is often diagnosed as a repetitive strain injury; sleep disorder condition, irritable bowel syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis or any other type of medical problem. Based on the American College of Rheumatology a person is diagnosed with Fibromylagia when he or she suffers pain throughout the body for at least three months and has 11 out of 18 tender points present.

If any of this sounds like what you have see a doctor of rheumatology as soon as possible.

Its not a bad thing to have sore muscles if you havent had extreme physical activity in a while. You will find, believe me, if you stretch after every set you do in the gym, you will have NO soreness. When you dont stretch between sets, the muscles stay tighter. Then you go home tight. Even though your still mobile till you go to bed. You muscles are tight. Sooooo, you wake up with your muscles not bein in a normal relaxed state after sleeping, ( still tight). Now you get up your stiff, cause the last thing your muscles remember is bein worked out. You have put stress on them during the workout. Stretching them, or riding a stationary bike will be a cool down. 5 mins is all you need for a cool down after your workouts...
