what is "saved?" someone told me I won't go to God when I die b/c I have not been saved and wasn't baptized. I beleive in God and I pray and stuff. I read something online a few years ago that said to repeat it out loud it was accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. I repeated it out loud - does that mean I'm saved or not. Also i am non denominational am I still a Christian or not?

Ok, let's break this down one question at a time.

You believe in God.
When you repeated that you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, where you sincere?

Your salvation depends upon this sincerety and I can not answer it for you.........be honest with yourself.

If you were sincere, you must try to refrain from sinning, this is humanly impossible, but imperitative that you try.

Baptism is symbolic--much like a wedding ring, to lose your wedding ring does not "unmarry" you. I encourage you to be batptised.........but salvation is not dependant upon it.

Denomination has nothing to do with being saved, it is about a set of doctrines (beliefs) that the group uphold.

If your acceptance of Jesus was sincere, you are now a Christian, all other concerns are just gravy on the meat!

To "be saved" means that you have accepted Jesus as your saviour, and you are now walking in His light, and your place in Heaven is assured. To be a Christian and to be saved go hand in hand.

I will give you a sinners Prayer that you can read to get saved, but first you have to believe Jesus died for you on a cross, and arose from the grave to wash away your sins. Be saved means repenting of your sins and turning in a new direction. It means having a Personal relationship with Jesus Christ, do you get so convicted when you do something wrong you can't sleep, does it bother you when you get angry, to do always want to get even when somebody gets over on you, if and when you have problems like these and you get even with people and it doesn't bother you then you are not saved, You should want to go to church everytime the door is open, you should want to help others, if not, you are not born again, Please say this Prayer on your knees with all the sincerity and believe that you can muster, if you really get saved you will fill the Holy Spirit come into your heart, Just say Dear Jesus I know and confess that I am a sinner in need of salvation, I believe you died on a cross and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this, prayer believing in the name of Jesus, Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of the King, Praise the Lord, If you have any questions please send me an email, GOD BLESS YOU!!!

there are many different ideas on this. Many say you can just say a prayer and be saved. This is most of the evangelican churches. We certainly must confess to God you do not have to confess to a person. Then you must repent. You must now mortify the sins of your flesh and no longer condone or justify any sin. When you do sin you must be sorry you did it and ask for foregiveness. The next part is the baptism. some believe you have to be batized to become a Christian others believe accepting Jesus in your heart saves you and baptism is something you do because you are a Christian. This is my personal belief. Getting baptized made me feel strong and I felt I put on the full armor of God I no longer condone or justify sins.

Only you and God know, but the fact that you are asking and seem to care, is a good indication. Those who are lost do not care about Heaven or Hell, do not believe that Jesus was and is God, don't believe they are a sinner or need a savior.
Questions to ask yourself are:
Do you believe you are a sinner and cannot do anything about that condition?
Do you believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died for the sins of His people and rose on the third day for their justification?
Do you believe that Jesus is God, the second member of the trinity?
Do you believe that Jesus is the savior and the only way to Heaven?
If you can honestly answer yes to these questions, it is a good indicator that you belong to God.

1Co 12:3 Because of this I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, Jesus is a curse. And no one is able to say Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.

If you ask God to forgive you for your sins, ask Him into your heart and acknowledge that He sent His Son Jesus to die for your sins so that you could go to heaven and be with Him in eternity. Yes you are a Christian.... Also you should get into a good bible believing church (preaches the word of God and doesn't beat around the bush to try not to offend people). Pray daily and read your bible that will keep you close to God because your seeking Him. Try your best to live for the Lord, and if you make a mistake ask God's forgiveness. God Loves You!

Oh baptizing is just an act of obedience you should do it but it won't keep you out of heaven (In my opinion)

Being saved is not something someone can "just say outloud". It is a feeling. It is true repentence for the sins you realize you are guilty of. You have to want it more than anything you have ever wanted or will ever want in your entire life. God is not going to forgive you just because you said a few words. Words are empty. You have to feel it in your heart and truly be sorry for the sin in your life. Only by God's love, mercy, and grace will you be forgiven.

Believe you will be forgiven and it will be so. For the Bible teaches us that if we believe we will receive what we seek in prayer, it will be given.

I am a Christian by today's standards but do not really call myself one. God did not call us Christians. I am a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and the One True God. No other "title" is needed for me. God knows what is within my heart and that should be all that matters....

All those who truly believe in Christ are saved.

"To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God"John 1:12

"You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus" Gal 3:26

Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life." John 5:24

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 1JOhn 5:13

However, if you believe, then you should get baptized.

Ac 10:47 "Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have."

Ac 8:36 As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. Why shouldn’t I be baptized?"

What's preventing you?

Find some water and some other Christian, or a community of Christians, and get baptized.

Saved is letting Jesus into your heart, claiming Him as your Lord and Savior, and repenting of your sin. Denominational is belonging to a particular religious order and is not a requirement to be saved or to be a Christian. Welcome to the family from your sister in Christ. Now grow in your love for Christ and be a witness for Him in everything you say and do.

I'd probably never go so far as to say all of anything sucks. For me, the problem occurs when the subject matter takes precedence over the music, and I've found many Christian bands tend to do that. Sometimes, it's like they just wanted a way to convey their message, rather than with many pagan bands, it seems they just needed a theme for their music (certainly not always). Of course, I haven't listened to them all, and wouldn't shun a band just because they're openly Christian. I did like the ones you linked, especially the second one. MQ2: Orphaned Land includes Christian themes, but they're not "Christian metal"... so not really BQ: I might like a song more if I find the subject matter interesting (something historical), but I'm fine with anything as long as there's no supremacism.

A faithful man (not saved), the man prayed and gave so much in alms (money to the poor) that his efforts caused God to address him. He told him for him to find a certian man and he would tell him"..he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do...". The man preached Jesus to the first man and while he preached "...the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word." Then the man "...commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord..."

This story is found in Acts 10...

What must a person do...first have faith, for without faith it is impossible to be saved, second this faith will cause you to repent (be sorry for and seek to stop in in your life as it offends the Creator of all that is) then obey what you find in His Word. Acts 2, 8, 10 & 19 all mention water baptism as an act of faith and obedience (baptism in the name of the Lord) and talks of the infilling of the Holy Ghost. Acts 19 tells of believers that did not have the Holy Ghost (so beleive alone is not enough) and Romans 8 tells us that if the spirit that was in Christ is not in us then we are none of his.

Hope this helps...
