at 00:00 a.m. 1st July 1997, Prince Charles handed Hong Kong over to China!

A rainy night - I watched the handover ceremony - TV boardcast at home - I was in Hong Kong - I still remember how I felt about it when I saw the Chinese flag hoisted ... Woah!!!!! Chinese army marched across the boundary....!!!!! I am proud to be a Chinese, ... what a day!

It rained heavily on 30th June 1997 - whole day and seemed like we needed to wash away the shame of lost of Opium Wars ... after the hand over ceremony, it stopped raining, what a coincidence!

@天空好悲:
Plz don't blame the Empress Dowager Cixi. As a woman, she did her best to same the last empire of China. With the 8 European countries invading China at the same time, she at least managed to saved the nation from being 100% colonized like India. It was a hard time for all Chinese including Empress herself.
