LOL you are funny. Large pots of soup and cheese cake. Looks like you cooked yourself tired. Sounds terrible but you should stay up for an hour and let the items cool down before putting them in the fridge. If it were just the cheese cake it would be ok but a large pot of soup and the cheese cake you suggested in your other post say that you are going to bring the temp of the fridge down to an unsafe point for ALL of the food you are storing in the fridge. We will keep you busy for an hour. Hang out with us. Blessings!

The problem with putting it in the fridge is it heats up the refrigerator and the other foods therein.

Have you tried putting the pot/container in an ice bath to cool it down quicker?

Personally, I wouldn't leave it out . . . I'm not a food scientist, but it doesn't sound good

You need to put it into several smaller containers so it will cool off faster in the fridge. If staying up for 20 minutes isnt an option try putting the containers in a sink full of cold water and ice for a few minutes then put in fridge uncovered or it will not cool fast enough.

NO!!!!! Don't put it in the fridge... it's still hot & it will go bad. Wait till it cools off, then put it in the fridge... even if it's till the morning. Take it off the stove & put it on the table or something (away from the heat)...and let it cool off... you don't want it to go sour.

Yes, it is safe to put in the fridge overnight. I like to freeze my soups, it is too hot right now, but tomorrow it should be perfect. I like to put them in bags and freeze them for my hubby when he's home alone or when the kids want something quick and easy!

Put the soup in another container (that will take some of the heat away-you can also stir in a few ice cubes) and refrigerate it. Do not leave it out over night.

Yes, fridge it or it will not be healthy to eat if it sits out all night.
