It means you don't have a burner-only a player. Since you didn't state whether CD or DVD, you will need to purchase the hardware. It will cost about $50. You can install it yourself or pay to have it done ($50.00). The software will come with it. I bought a HP and love it. Buy one that burns both CD and DVD. Good luck.
