Ok I have been friends with the guy I like for about four months. We both like each other but we both won't admit it. We've already gone to the movies once but thats about it. Now school has started again and I talked to him, and he said that we should hang out this week. But he's awfully shy and dating-challenged, so I think I'm going to have to ask him out instead. So should I ask him to the movies this weekend, or ask him to spend lunch with me at school? We're 15, both sophomores.

I think the movies is a good idea. You don't have to do much talking, and since he is shy.. that will be good. Plus.. Lunch involves alot of people, and u wont really have a chance to have a one on one conversation with him. Good luck :)

Lunch. If he's shy as you say, it will make him more comforable. Plus, turning it into a dating situation should be done at HIS initiative, not yours. For now, go ahead and suggest things to do to spend time together, but make them pressure-free situations like lunch. That way, you guys can continue to get to know each other and build a friendship on which something more serious can be based later when the time is right. And it will only go to that level if the guy wants it. sounds like you have the start of a beautiful lasting relationship, or a good friendship if nothing else, which is still a lot. Good luck!

Lunch at school would be a start, once you share that first lunch, it will make it easier to eat together next time. After this goes on for a week or so, start talking mall and movie..good luck

the movies, definitely :)

if he's as shy as u say he is, than he's gonna have a hard time talking to u if u ask him to eat lunch with u.

plus, going to the movies is outside of school and he doesn't have to be put into the hot seat (or u) and feel pressured to ask u a lot of questions. going to the movies is just one of those really great things where u can bond, but don't have to talk so much:) it is sooo much easier...

it's a lot more romantic anyways being alone together (well, sort of) in the dark, than sitting together and probably accidently stepping in something that is gooey and probably getting it stuck on your shoe in your school cafeteria. so yea.

~best wishes grlfriend ;) haha

If you like each other I think lunch should be something that you do every day but you can tell him .Hey what are you doing this weekend, would you like to come with me to the movies ?.and then you will see if he only like you as a friend

Pefinitely lunch, at the movies, you go.. sit there and watch.. MAYBE hold hands.. and then leave. No time to actually get to know each other (without pissing off the people around you). With lunch, you can get to know one another. Don't go somewhere messy though (like all you can eat spaghetti bar). You don't want to be talking to him with stuff dripping out of your mouth. Somewhere that has food that is manageable and non-messy is best.

Lunch. Def. And not Applebees or some crap like that.

Youve done the movies.

Lunch gives u a chance to talk and stuff - figure out if u should date or whatever

Lunch. Bad Movie = Bad Date and all you do is sit near each other and not speak, Over lunch you can talk and get to know each other better.

Lunch at school is not a date. It just isn't, besides, if you two go to the movies then you can let him make a move without having to maintain a convorsation with you, which it sounds would be hard for him. so yeah, movies...
