Hi !!!
I would say about 18 chocolate chips...3 chips in every bite...the average size chocolate chip cookie should be eaten in about 6 bites...6 bites x 3 chips = 18 TOTAL CHIPS

Agee with Alexis.. So, to know how many choc chips on an average choc cookie are, we need to do a research.
As a fan of Forest Gump movie, I'd say:
Life is like a container of choc cookies. You never know what you are going to get, a cookie with many or a few choc chips..

about 6 i think, on an average sized cookie, if its a bit smaller than 4-5 and if they are jumbo then about 8-10

That depends on how big your chocolate chips are! I like the mini Chipits-then it seems like you have more..

i think you should mix the chocolate chips with the dough and just scoop a spoon full on to the tray
