I think Wicca is a wonderful religion. Just make sure you never stop wanting to learn more about it.

And ignore the people who try to tell you what your truth is by telling you their truth. You have the freedom to chose as you wish.

Well, I've been Wiccan for over 20 years, so obviously I have a positive view of it.

:)

I think the best thing to do, assuming you're an adult, is find a tradition.

http://www.witchvox.com/xtrads.html is a great place to start, although some of the profiles are wacky. Find a group that charges nothing, does not claim to be ancient, and allows both solitary and coven practice. One with a good online community is a MAJOR bonus, but beware of purely online groups.

I think that if it something that means something special to you then you should embrace it firmly. I am a Pagan and Witch and I drifted away from it because I am not the type of person who likes crowds... Maybe that is why I am a Solitary?

There are a lot of us out there so you can only feel lonely if you choose not to connect. The Witch's Voice has lists of groups around the world, so you might try going there to get information about groups near you. I'll give you a link to my site and there is a link page there that lists a few links that might help.

Bright blessings

I've been Wiccan for fourteen or so years, and still find it engaging and fulfilling. Blessed be to you.

If you're lonely, one way to find other Wiccans and witches close by is through the Witches of the World section at Witchvox:

Just use the pull-down menus on the left to find individuals, groups, shops, and events in your area.

I think that it is wonderful to have another who has decided to think for herself and not follow the traditions set down by man and his book religions. Look around, you don't have to be alone, even if you are a solitary practitioner (like myself) you can still connect with outer pagans and wiccans!

There are several groups in Yahoo Groups that you can join to meet and talk with other Wiccans. Here's a link to a site that you might find of interest as well:

We need to basically define Wicca these days, as either:

a) A traditional system of initiates going back just over 50 years, with a "year and a day" start, or

b) Something you claim when you wake up some morning 'cos you feel like it (rather common in America).

I've practiced Wicca for some time (5yrs to be exact), I am no longer a practicing wiccan I chose and found Christ. Wicca taught me many positive things in my life as well as negative, (as with any religion) in my honest opinion choose something different in my opinion again (sorry if i piss y'all off) Wicca is hollow and lacks true substance, its to limiting and stops at a point where true spirituality begins. yes there are many self spiritual as well as group spiritual examples that can be cited to contradict my substance statement but if you analyze the depth of those examples, you will see what i mean, if you detach your self from your belief and just look with out emotion
