Answer - "You need to learn to laugh at yourself."
It isn't easy, but instead of anger, you need to find humor.
When someone says something insulting, they are trying to hurt you. But if you are with them, it makes no sense to them and they are defeated.
Just don't think of anything as being directed toward you personally. Instead, think of what is said, and how funny it is. When you start laughing at it, it makes YOUR anger go away, and the one saying bad things gets angry instead.
There is so much more to this, and as you do this you will see how powerful you are by not being angry. You will gain control and clear thinking, and actually feel happy. Eventually, your happiness will make others want what secret you have, and they will like you, then enjoy being near you.
Stand in front of a mirror, and laugh. Make fun of yourself, and everything wrong with you. Then, realize EVERYBODY isn't perfect. You are just like everybody else - not perfect.
So what? It's nothing to DIE over. It's something to LAUGH AT, and move on with your life. Guess what? Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are ugly to some people. Are they gonna kill themselves? No way. Hey, so what? Who cares? Nobody's perfect - nobody!
Being able to laugh at yourself is POWER! It is a secret gift that works, and confuses others.

Therapy is distasteful but so is the condition you describe, as I, myself, experience a condition of anxiety. Its as simple as discussing it with your family doctor. My doctor prescibed a non-addictive, inexpensive pharmaceutical for my anxiety which I take when I need it --- about 1/20th as often as prescribed. You are very intelligent to face your problem rather than let it ruin your life. If you've ever taken aspirin or a cough drop, then you've already solved a medical problem therapeutically. Do something! Don't explode! You sound like a genuinely nice person to be around, when your fuse isn't lit! Good luck, Tom G

That's just a TINY bit over the edge. Kill your anger without killing yourself it's much easier... I learned that the hard way. Write your fellings in a book. Don't try to make your jounal sound like it is on the movies. You DON'T have to write in it everyday, the entries DON'T have to be 2 pages long front to back....
just write it down. Or the classical screaming in a pillow helps too. good luck.

If you want to stop your anger you gotta figure a way to deal with it, i used to have anger issues and id throw things and once i relized a way i stopped getting physical. the way i deal with anger is i talk to my husband and that calms me down
