One person said they evolved for non-verbal communication, several said it was protection against sweat, some said light absorbtion there were many other answers & few of them had sources.
Read the different answers! First of all - this just goes to show that 90% of the theories associated with evolution are just people pulling crap that sounds good out of their behind.
So 2 questions:
1) How evolution can be true if there are so many contradictory theories about how and why it happened?
2) How exactly did eyebrows prevent death? Sure, if we didn't have them we might have to wipe a dust particle out of our eyes more often (I don't think so b/c I never find dust trapped in MY eyebrows) - but how is this going to be naturally selected?
If it's true overall it must be true in the particulars.

Do you really think that most people actually have a thorough understanding of evolution? I know that I don't, but the fact that most scientists around the world accept evolution as a sound scientific theory is good enough for me. A bunch of people of Yahoo Answers contradicting each other about evolution, without any qualifications in the field hardly amounts to the theory being weak.

Wow, did you ever make a leap with this one. Firstly you ask just anyone what their opinion was on the reason we have eyebrows, then since you get different answers, jump to the conclusion that therefore evolution is not possible and therefore God must have created it all. Obviously you have not ever seen the massive amounts of contradictions that religious people have over their own "religious" books. And what gets dropped and what should be followed. That would be more of a reason behind not believing in God, than your eyebrow thing not believing in evolution. Since we see adaption of living beings everyday, your theory (or lack there of) is null and void, and it puts huge support in evolution. There is empirical evidence in evolution, nothing for God.

Many questions have more then 2 answers. Many questions the answer has not been found. Evolution can be true because you are talking about eyebrows here. We may not find the real reason, then again, Maybe we will.

First stop trying to do your, religious school homework on the Internet, we get it you have been brainwashed with intelligent design by your religious school, home school, or church.
Additionally why dont you do your own research. I know you probably don't know what a library looks like, but it has books in it, and they give the scientific reasons why evolution is fact, and intelligent design is garbage.
But if you persist in a there is no evolution, here is your simple answer god put them there to divert rain and water from getting in your eyes.
I am not going to give you any sources simply because I dont want you to plagiarize them in your paper.

Actually, the fact that eyebrows have multiple functions does not reduce the validity of evolution. A structure can develop as a survival advantage for one purpose, then acquire a second purpose that becomes the impetus for its preservation even after the first purpose becomes historical.

Evolution is proven to be true by many different kinds of evidence. The fact that we don't yet know how a particular feature evolved does not detract from the fact that we are the products of evolution.

I'm not even reading the rest of your question .. b/c
1) If you want real answers .. and you are serious .. ask an anthropologist .. not average people on yahoo .. or go read some books on evolution.
2) Just b/c they *may* be a debate on *eyebrows* doesn't mean evolution doesn't exist .. evolution is not the *evolution of eye brows* lol ... evolution is EVERYTHING .. humans.. other species of animals.. plants .. bacteria .. not just eye brows

It doesn't mean that the theory of evolution is crap, it just means that there are certain details within the theory that we don't know yet. Exactly how eyebrows evolved is one of them.

There are contradictory theories in Creationism as well.
Some say dinosaurs never existed and fossils were put there by God to artificially age the Earth, while others say humans and dinosaurs actually existed side by side...does that alone mean Creationism is false?
