Yes there is but to know what the diagnosis is the person would have to be willing to see a professional. First of all, the individual could be seriously immature. Or, the individual could have a personality disorder. This means different things for different people. Among such disorders are many diagnoses that have different symptoms. Or, the individual could be bipolar or could have some other mood disorder.
What I am saying is there is no way of really knowing without the help of a professional. In order to treat the person one needs to have a working diagnosis. This is important in determining if the person could benefit from medication. Such an individual, regardless of the diagnosis can be difficult to live with.
I hope my answer helps.

To ''gwennie147'' your info on borderline personality disorder is not accurate at all. First of all, bpd is not CURABLE, merely managable. Second, it does not necisarrily come from child neglect. Studies show that many, BUT NOT ALL individuals with BPD report a history of abuse, neglect, or separation as young children. Please see http://www.nimh.nih.gov/publicat/bpd.cfm for a more accurate description.

To the original poster, I am borderline, and well I have to admit that I have been known to throw tantrums, or more or less raise a mothafuckin ruckess when a situation doesn't go like I feel it should. Not all the time, but sometimes. Although, whoever you are talking about may have another disorder, or perhaps not a disorder at all, perhaps they are immature or spoiled. You can look up the link above to see if BPD is the diagnoses you are looking for.

yeah, its called Borderline Personality Disorder and its pretty tough to cure. it usually goes hand in hand with narcism. There is not much you can do about it, but the person who needs help needs to want it and get it themselves. These people have difficulty maintaining relationships, jobs etc and usually revert to being a "brat" in times of stress. it comes from neglect as a child.

Some of your answers have suggested various disorders. It could be any or none of them. However, anyone who behaves like that has "poor impulse control." He/she may have another diagnoses also, but definitely poor impulse control is there.
