oh God, please no!!! You can't lighten color with color. well, some really strong highlift blondes will, but it's hit or miss, unpredictable and sooooo bad for your hair, ( I'm assuming you really do want to keep your hair on your head right? ) All colors fade, each and every one. Even the ones that promise they don't. Blonde isn't as bad as all the rest. Have you called around to all your local salons to find the best price? It's not so much where you go to get your hair done, it's who you get! You've already had the pain of a bad box job, why do it agian? It makes it so much harder for us stylists when we're trying to work over home jobs, and often it winds up going into corrective color (big bucks then) If you do decide to do this, grab a friend to help you, an apply only to the regrowth, don't fry the length of your hair! And make sure you go light enough the first time around, you can make it darker, but you can't make it lighter.
