Here are a few reasons, they may not come right out and tell you this, but it is true:
1) they believe the Book of Mormon is on the same level as the Bible, conservative Christians certainly do not
2) they believe Jesus and Lucifer were once brothers...yes, you heard that right
3) They believe their president is literally the voice of God
4) They do not believe in hell
5) They believe Jesus was physically conceived by the God "Elohim" having physical sex with Mary
6) They believe ALL other churches are not truly valid
7) They believe that when you are married properly it is for eternity; Christians believe marriage is for this life only
8) They believe you will be judged by God and Joseph Smith
9) They believe Jesus Christ blood does not really save you, also many other things are required- thus the reason water is used in the place of grape juice or wine for their communion
10) They believe their good, worthy men will become Gods of their own world in eternity
11) They believe their good, worthy will be pregnant for eternity
12) They believe many religious rights can only be performed in their special temples (not the local church buildings)
13) The Book of Mormon has been revised many times due to inaccuracies, but yet they still claim Joseph Smith to be a true prophet
14) They believe you must be baptized for the dead to become a god
15) They believe there are special types of undergarments to be worn for high religious reaons
16) This list just scratches the surface...I'm not making any of this up, for real.

By who? So, they're not Pauline xtians - but they see themselves as being xtian - so they're xtian - Thee End!
They do have some extra books the fundamentalist xtianss don't like, but so do the Catholics. Joseph Smith has been accused plagerising portions of the Bible for the "Book of Mormon", and making up the story that he found the golden tablets of Moroni - does anlyone actually care?
See the protestants decided that they too wanted to edit the Bible, God's Holy Word - written by god hisself - to be in conformity with their new belief of the infallibillity of the Bible in all things, like the Catholics did centuries earlier. ;->
Then there's the polygamy thing - the self
righteous xtian fundies didn't like it, and did their best to run J. Smith & Co. out of New York for it. That's why they moved west and ended up in Utah. lt was amended, (the head prophet dude had a vision) and is no longer a mainstream Mormon doctrine.
Reading the previous screeds you'd think that, but the only concern of the fundies is whether people agree with them on every dot and tittle , and want to dictate the terms of salvation for both themselves and everybody else, and so it is.
They may bellieve what they will, but so can the Mormons - it's still a semi-free country!...

Polytheism/Henotheism. Mormons believe that there are many gods,
that human beings can attain god status and rule/create their own worlds
the creator god of this world is finite
the Trinity is 3 separate divine beings
that humans are literal spirit children of the Father
Check out LDS sites for fuller instruction on the differences and similarities between 'Brighamite'Mormonism and historic Trinitarian Christianity and other world religions.

The Bible includes a curse for any who adds or subtracts from God's Word!
The Mormons added a whole new book of Mormon. Nice try, but I'm not fooled!
I believe in my Creator God's Holy Word...not your founder/creator's book of wishful thinking.
Have NO gods before God!
Isn't it funny that your church prophets are wrong so often? First one announces the "God said..." poligamy is OK...then another self-proclaimed prophet says "God said..." poligamy is NOT OK.
My God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow!!!

Mormons ARE considered christians by other mormons. And, when someone needs statistics that say there are a lot of "christians", they'll include ANYONE to boost their numbers dishonestly.

I'm not concerned about what other people think of my religion. I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I pray to God in His name. I try to follow His commandments and example. I believe I've chosen my religion wisely and trust in His mercy. I'm only concerned with what He thinks of me.

They reject essential Christian teachings and teach things that are unbiblical.
the nice part is that they add nice Christiany sounding labels to their beliefs, so that they can seem kinda Christian.
Truth is that Joe Smith and Brig Young both said all Christians were apostate and that they were the only true faith. They drew the line and said they were not on the same side.
Not hard to believe, since they spent so much time trying to get people to leave Christian churches.

We are told not to add to nor take from the scripture we were given. Joseph Smith did not believe that. He took the King James version of the bible and copied much of it along with his own ideas and said it was given him on tablets of gold. The tablets were never revealed nor were they found. He said he wrote it one word at a time from dreams or trances. He copied several of the words of Jesus from the King James bible in the old King James language which was antique at the time of Joseph Smith. (Seemingly he wanted to indicate God or Jesus was very out of step with the way They spoke instead of being the God or tomorrow. Joseph Smith did not get the Word from God. If God had given him the words he wrote, he would not have had to change them so many times and still have parts of it in direct controdiction to the Word of God)
