I found this:
Tuesday 11th of September, is still the 28th of Sha'ban in the UK,
then this
In Saudi Arabia Sha'aban 29th is on September 11th
then this
DETERMINING THE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH OF RAMADAN
The obligation of fasting the month of Ramadan becomes incumbent upon the occurrence of one of two matters: to sight the crescent of Ramadan after the sunset of the 29th day of Sha^ban (the month directly preceding Ramadan) or, if the crescent is not seen, then completing 30 days of Sha^ban. So, the beginning of the month of Ramadan, as well as the end of the month is determined by sighting the crescent, and if not cited, then by completing the month with 30 days--as is the case with determining all the months of the lunar calendar. This is taken from the hadith of the Prophet related by al-Bukhariyy and Muslim:

http://www.aicp.org/IslamicInformation/images/siyam6.gif
which means: <>
also, another statement
<> Praise be to Allah, how easy the matter is. Any Muslim with a sound sight can observe the crescent. He does not need to rely on complex calculations only a few people understand.

Then this made my head hurt:
Most Muslims insist on the local physical sighting of the moon to mark the beginning of Ramadan, but some insist on using the calculated time of the new moon or the Saudi Arabian declaration to determine the start of the month
soo, in conclusion, I guess it just matters what your beliefs are. Good luck, I still am unsure of the date myself.

The two possible days would be tonight or tomorrow. Since the moon hasn't been sighted tonight then it will most likely be tomorrow inshaAllah. So taraweeh prayer will begin tomorrow night and fasting will begin thursday. I hope this is of some help to you. Ramadan Mubarik:)

Will March 1 in your calendar always be 28 or 29 days after February 1? You can only pick one.

assalamualikum...
if the month sha'aban get over on 29th the month of ramadan starts on the very next day....no one cud be specific on this...to confirm if its ramadan ...they search the sky for the moon(crescent) n the moon doesnt stay for long it can only be viewed in magrib n goes of by isha..so the alims or shaiks of the country declare wether its ramadan or not..if the month of sha'aban extendsto 30 the next days is obviously ramadan....
