If my license is currently suspended and I get it unsuspended will my cost of insurance go down? I am paying almost $200 a month for a plain car. It is a 2006 but it is nothing special. The typical 4 door sedan.

Generally speaking, if it was stictly for unpaid tickets and not due to a conviction (ie demerit points) it will not go up. Another factor is the length of time it has been suspended for. It it was just for a couple of months...no big deal. If it has been suspended for example a year, your driving record may be reduced by the number of years it has been suspended for. In which case, premiums will increase. Please keep in mind, I am only taking this information from the location where I live. Hope this helps!

Not enough information. What caused your licence to get suspended. And are your risking getting caught driving on a suspended licence? You could go to jail. Your insurance company thinks your high risk and the rates will only go down after a year or two no tickets no accidents. Your lucky you have anything to drive.

I doubt it, you can't change the amount of time you're suspended for. That insurance doesn't really sound that high either, depending on your area and age. I think you just have to wait it out but why not ask them?

My guess would be no. You're insurance may stay the same for a while due to the fact that you've had your liscense suspended. It will probably go down a year or so after you've had you liscense back. They need to see that you can keep your liscense.

May I suggest you get rid of the car?
I thought a car was indispensible, but now that I lost mine, I'm riding bike, and have never felt so good!
Just a thought.

have you asked your ins. co. to file an sr22? if not, you will never get your liscense re-instated. You must carry an sr22 on your ins. for 3 years. then after your liscense is re-instated, (which takes less than 3 years) your ins. should go down.
