Yes...In fact, I think that they had so much faith that they would kill themselves, and thousands of people in the name of their religion.

That is why sincerity is no measure of the truth.
They truly believed something.
It just happened to be the wrong thing.

Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the father but by me," John 14:6.

In so saying He made the exclusive claim to be the ONLY way to God. Sorry, but I can only say what Jesus said about this; if that is intolerant, well okay.

Act 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."

Religion has been the excuse for many sins, even those of religious leaders. That makes them sinners just like the rest of us, that doesn't not negate the truth of God's Word.

Yes those people are truly religious. Newsweek did a poll and found out 26% of Ameican Muslims believe 9/11 was justified. When Polls were conducted in Egypt, Morocco and Sryia the numbers were pretty high around 90-95%. 60% of Muslims consider Osama to be a hero. Yes Islam is to be blamed for 9/11.

It was used as an excuse?

That's so very insulting. You can't say it was only for politcal reasons because so much of Islam's politics is based on their beliefs. These beliefs create a few fanatics and extremists who sometimes become terrorists like we saw in 9/11.

French has a saying..( A beau mantire qui vient de loin)
If you are coming from far away places, and talk about something people know very little about.. It is easy for you to say anything you want.
Who is going to say "you are wrong"?
Religion is the most powerful terrorist weapon available to harm people. No one would argue against God.People can be easily convince to do evil things if you can convince them
"It is the God's will"

No I do not think those involved in the world trade center attacks were truly religious; their actions contradict my definition of true religion as found in the Bible:

"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world". - James 1:27.

They were indoctrinated into this path by religious leaders who think their religion allows them to use these kinds of tactics to achieve their political goals. In their minds, the 9/11 terrorists were following their religion as it was taught to them.

Yes. Being "religious" simply means being devout in a particular religion. It is not supposed to be a synonym for "ethical".

The meaning of the word doesn't change just because you think they were wrong in their justification, or in their religious interpretations, or even if you consider yourself religious (even within the same religion) and don't condone what they did.

Yes,
but allow me to clarify,
you can be religious, very deep in a belief but confused....maybe twisted even.
it's very easy to take some initially well-intentioned, and **** it up; to be blunt.
Just as many Christians do by judging others on a semi-daily basis when they say only christ should be able to.
Just as anyone does when they go against their religion and it's original purpose, but still identify themselves as such.

so basically, I think they may be, but moreso in their own head than anywhere else.

i'm not sure religion was the excuse for the attack, but it was definitely the excuse to recruit support for it. these people are so deluded that no one can really know what was going on in their minds.

A lot of people think that the Bush Administration had something to do with it. Or at the very least knew about it before hand.

If Bush knew about it before hand, do you think that makes him truly religious?
