You go through your insurance, paying the first $100. They fix your car and bill him (since he was at fault) for the money they are out. When they collect all the money he pays in, you get your $100 back.
Alternately you can contact the person directly and tell him what the damage was, and perhaps he will pay you directly for the damage.

Is the deductible for collision of for underinsurance coverage. How much damage did you sustain. Is it possible that you can get if fixed for less than the company repair shop estimates. Most states have a small claims court process. In our state it is all claims for less than $4,500. You can start an action against him for your damages there and get a judgment. Most collection companies will collect on a jugment and take 20-30% of what they collection. What are the chances he could be good for it if he had the time to pay on it. One can garnish his wages once you have a judgment against him. Most states allow you to collect for up to 10 years. There are ways to get paid. If you sell your claim to your company, pay the deductible, then your insurance company will pursue repayment and will see your deductible too. It may take a while, but you should see your money back unless the guy is totally a loser. Sorry you will be out the deductible, but that is why you have insurance to get some of the money paid when things like this happen.

You should have called the cops straight away .. thats actually the law that you report crashes however minor. This guy has gotton away with it.. what would have happened if you had of been injured... he would have driven away. You can hope that teh cops charge him with it... and then give tat info to your insurance and they may go after him.. but until that happens ypu are money out and face an increas in insurance... Maybe... you should swallow the cost and have the car repaired out of pocket ... in the long run it will save you money.....

Every state is different in regards to the minimum liability coverage you are required to carry on your vehicle.
First:
check your insurance policy, and speak with your adjuster, ask about your policy and see if you have UMPD (Uninsured Motorist Property Damage)
A:
if you do not carry UMPD on your policy, you are screwed. you will be responsible for your Collision ded, but you can take a Warrant in Debt out against him and sue for your loss
B:
if you do have UMPD on your policy, and if your adjuster can prove if was the other persons fault and has verified the other person in fact does not have insurance, your policy will handle 100% of the damages to your vehicle under your UMPD, in other words you should not have to pay anything out of pocket as long as your adjuster can prove the above two things
Good luck and take care

You don't have much option. You can pay the deductable,or drive around with a dent in your car. You might be able to fix it yourself, dependeing on the severity.
In the future, you may see how much your insurance goes up if you choose a lower deductable on under-insured collisions.

Get a couple big friends with hammers and drive over to his house and say pay my deductable or we will take out our frustration out on your car. And say we know you are not insured so we will call the police everytime we see you driving around. You can get information with the licence plate number His address from DMV and licence plate division. Always Get police envolved or cash up front take me to your ATM. Watch out for those minor fenders! They really dent! I would just blow this one off and learn.

You should always call the cops when you have an accidnet... they probably whould have arrested the guy for driving without insurance which dosen't really help you so you either have to pay your deductible or you could sue the guy that hit you

It depends on where you live. Where I live the insurance company pays for the damages, then sues him to get their money back.
