God has created the Universe, God is running the Universe. God will destroy the Universe. God is the Origin of Universe. God is the Destination of Universe. Spirit can neither be created nor be destroyed. It moves from one body to another. Your body dies, not spirit. Your spirit gets new body after death, based upon your actions in this life. Your target is to make your spirit pure, so that it can merge in Super Spirit (God). Remember wherever there is Happiness in Life, there will be Sorrow. To get Happiness, you must master Sorrow.

God tried that. Many of those who witnessed Jesus' miracles in person still did not believe in and follow him. When he did miracles, people accused him of being a demon or a magician. If you saw one, you might assume you were hallucinating or on drugs. In other words, you can always think of reasons for not believing and changing your life and obeying God.
Faith requires two things: God's grace enabling you to believe, and your willingness to accept that grace and cooperate with it. If either of those things is missing, you can witness all the miracles in the world and still remain an atheist. Which is precisely what Jesus said: "'. . . if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.' He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' "

God doesn't have to prove himself to you. He created you. You on the other hand have to prove something to him.
Just know that he loves you and it is not his will you should perish.
Man can believe either God or the devil. Since the garden of Eden, men have been believing the lies of the devil.
God told Adam that in the day he ate of the forbidden fruit, he would surely die.
The devil told his he would not surely die, but would be as God, a God.
Adam ate of the fruit and it is that reason all men will die in the flesh. He ate the fruit, and in the day he ate of the fruit, he died in his spirit. He sold his soul to the devil along with all of mankind. And all who died were taken and held captive in the place known as death and hell.
Yet, thanks be to a loving God, who sent his Son to save mankind, the hold that devil had on men was destroyed. God sent his Son to take away the reproach of the world.

To play devil's advocate, if God did physically show up in front of you, how would you know it was Him? It's pretty tricky to prove somebody is omnipotent.

God's reasons are god's reason, so I do not presume to speak to that; but, it isn't at all clear to me that a divine manifestation would be understood by you (or me for that matter) as a divine manifestation. Indeed, without actually becoming human just how would we conceive of the divine as "physically" showing up?
So, the real issue isn't why, but rather how would I know if it actually happened.

When God has shown His power in His presence, it does not help people to believe Him.
Just look at the Jews in Exodus, they say the 10 plagues, the sea opening, the water from a rock, mana and many more things, but that did not get them to believe!
God is calling us quietly and gently, so that we will come into His presence.

Why should He? He doesn't have to prove anything to you. Who are you, compared to Him? He doesn't need you and he doesn't need any of us. He already has angels and other believers worshipping Him in heaven. He doesn't need us but He loves us and He wants us. In the Bible, it says to not test God and that people who believe without seeing are blessed. Let's say you were accused of murder and your parents and friends and family thought that you were guilty but then you proved to them that you were innocent and they believed you, but wouldn't it still hurt that they didn't believe you in the first place? It's called faith.
