Sola Scriptura has spawned a lot of heresy and is responsible for exponentially increasing schisms within Christianity as well as spawning many ecclesiastical groups who have kept alive ancient heresies such as the Campbellites, Mormons, Jehovah Witness and various schisms from these groups. Groups such as the Seventh Day Adventists are slowly coming out of their darkness and into the light of truth. Some are lost forever in the false doctrines of men. All of these groups are based on the teaching of charismatic leaders who closely resemble the ravenous wolves prophesied in Scripture. May we pray for their escape from these false teachers and their return to Christ's Church.

It is sometimes pride - whether it is the pride of the ones separating or the ones who refuse to reason with the "separators". It is true, we are supposed to be one - Jesus even prayed for this.

I know my congregation desires to work with other Bible believing, life giving, Gospel preaching churches regardless of denomination. We believe that we are one, at least as long as we can stand on the truth of Jesus and leave specific doctrinal disagreements aside.

Personally, I believe that out of all the numbers used in the Bible (3, 7, 12, etc), God's favorite number is one. I pray that one day we will see denominational walls break down and people come together with one purpose, one focus under on Authority, our One God.

Ye honestly I was raised Baptist (I'm an Atheist now), but to tell you the truth out of all of Christianity, Catholicism has it right, see they let the hierarchy interpret the bible (lol...) and they don't split like bacteria... compared to the thousands of protestant sects.

There IS ONLY ONE CHURCH, one faith, one baptism.......

We often confuse denominations with the church over which Christ alone rules. There are both Christians and heathen in most, if not all, denominations of those who call themselves
"Chritstian".

The best definition of the church that I have read is:
"The One, Holy Christian church is made up of ALL THOSE and ONLY THOSE who have believed in the vicarious atonement of Jesus Christ for their sins."

Do you realize the scripture and the Bible do not match currently here in USA? (Is that part of the division in Christianity world wide currently)?
