you will need
steering gear box $250-$300
pump$65
hoses$45
brackets$20+ depending on where you buy them.

the gear box & pump you can get a whole lot cheaper from the junkyards. figure $50 each at a pick n pull yard.

there is always ebay as well.

You'll need a pump and brackets, belt, gearbox, linkage? and maybe the column--could be several hundred dollars or more to swap the power system in unless you can find the parts at a salvage yard off a truck like yours with everything there. Or someone parting out their truck.

you do no longer choose PAS on a Mk3 golfing, they do no longer seem to be heavy adequate except you're a great lady's shirt or like wearing flat spots on your tyres via turning the wheel once you're no longer shifting. this is going to cost greater desirable than the vehicle is properly worth, in simple terms sell it and purchase a Punto, that has a easy-weight "city" button which makes it undriveable, yet could be perfect in case you have so little arm potential which you will no longer handle out PAS on a vehicle which fairly weighs a ton.
