14 months is still pretty young, especially for boys who usually do things slower than girls lol
Dont push him, you'll know when he is ready. Try having some nappy/diaper free time. Let him run around without one on and put the potty on the floor near him.
Another thing that work for my 2 boys was to sit them on the potty for awhile and read them a book. Sometimes they go without them even realising
Good luck! Its hard work lol

Start introducing the concept to him. Don't force him, let him do it on his schedule. You can buy him a potty and let him know what it is for. Just be patient, he may not be potty trained until he's 3 1/2, but I do know children who have been potty trained by 2 - 2 1/2.

Potty guidance has little to do with how clever a newborn is...to the only that replied and you agreed with. you won't have the capacity to teach a newborn a thank you to hold their pee. My young little ones had diaper rash a pair of circumstances yet never the different "issues" linked with diapers so i don't be attentive to what you're speaking approximately. what's the conventional existence expectancy? i think of that youngsters have some years to be diaper loose...a million or 2 or 3 years of donning diapers can not make a distinction interior the scope of their lives. Who knows, perhaps your son ought to apply this guidance on his resume sometime! i grew to become into potty experienced at a year previous and have been this impressive guy or woman ever considering. incredibly, what the heck does it rely? ETA: LOL- Mom2Max, i did not examine your answer till once I wrote mine. humorous we've been questioning alike related to the resume element!!

I was told to wait until my daughter turn 2. Its also better to do potty training in summer so that when they wet themselves they don't get as cold. Our little girl isn't quite 2 yet but we have got a potty that we sit her on sometimes, just to get her used to it. We don't expect her to do anything in there yet. We also let her come into the bathroom when we use the toilet and let her know what's happening. (Sorry hope thats not too much information!)

It has got nothin to do with age or walking. You can tell when they are ready. One of the signs is when his nappy is dry at night. Good luck.
