Winchester Model 37 Shotguns were manufactured between 1936-1963.Single Shot, Single Barrel Shotguns made in 12,16,20,28 and 410 gauge .
This was Winchesters first "RED LETTER" firearm. When it was manufactured a percentage number of these model guns were engraved and the lettering was filled with a hard custom mixed red lacquer finish. This was Winchesters first "Red Letter" variation. This is a big draw item to Winchester Collectors ,and very few of these guns that exist today have any or even partial numbers/letters with any of this red lacquer remaining. The regular model 37's & 310's don't have this
on them and never did.
