My friends and I can't seem to see any counter justification for not enforcing the Mexcan border (i.e. illegal immigrants and allowing trucks that can't be tracked or don't follow US standard safety policies).

On a legal standpoint, illegal immigrants are not legal, and technically don't have the rights that a citizen does. An illegal immigrant that steals a SSN is performing forgery, which is a crime (i.e. if I stole someone's SSN, I would be busted and face jail time).

If you argue that the US needs to have compassion, then why not start paying them more? In my hometown, Mexican migrants were picking berries for $1.00 a bucket. Why not pay illegal immigrants minimum wage and legalize them by reporting their employment (i.e. taxes), which is the humane wage we give to our own citizens (It's not that Americans don't want the jobs, they can't compete with the low wage + taxes)?

I would like to know other perspectives out there so that I can see other points of view.

There are two parts to your question, illegal aliens and trucks. As I agree for the most part about what you say about illegal aliens I will only address the trucks.

"allowing trucks that can't be tracked" - Trucks regardless of country of origin (Canada that has been sending trucks in for several years, the US and Mexico) are not track-able by the government. I am unable to see why it is an issue only for Mexican trucks.

"or don't follow US standard safety policies" - This statement has no basis in fact. One of the requirements for the trucks to enter is that they meet US safety requirements. They will actually receive more scrutiny than US trucks as they will be inspected each time they cross the border. Many US trucks get inspected once a year only.

bottom line is Mexico should do more for their people, most people come over here for a better life ,(some are criminals) some are not. you said mexicans were picking berries for $1.00 a bucket well in mexico they were probably getting $1.00 a day for 10 to 12 hrs of work and lets face it minimum wage isn't a livable wage here in the states either for all of us. i agree with you about americans not wanting the jobs because they pay such a low wage, pay $15.00 an hour and i bet you see a whole lot of americans on the farms , but then the farmers will say i'm not making any money ,which would be a load of crap because the farmers would just pass the extra expense on to the consumer, instead of $3.00 for a basket of strawberries it would be like $5.00 (cigarettes used to be .75 cents in 1980, now its what $5.00 who do you think is paying for all the taxes and penalties the cigarette company

First, each and every of the immigration from Europe wasn't open ended there have been impediments no longer the least of which grow to be in simple terms getting here, then there have been quotas and once you probably did get here you have been checked over for wellness and different issues and diverse have been sent back. 2d a very open border ability an entire continent and an extremely great u . s . a . in this continent can in simple terms pour into this u . s . a . unimpeded, u . s . of america could quit to be u . s . of america in an extremely short quantity of time and could exchange into the comparable 0.33 international mess those people are coming from. Geography isn't the answer, making issues paintings the place you're is. All this supposedly extreme minded rhetoric sounds solid different than whilst somebody certainly!!! seems at it logically and with some common experience whether it form of feels logic and customary experience are in very short grant in this international recently.

I agree with you on the immigration/ border itself.
But on wages piece work has always been low. But, one will make at least min wage by piece work some make much more. That is anyone immigrants or citizens a like.
Compassion shouldn't even enter the conversation unless it is toward the American citizens who subsides them.
If they weren't cheap labor they wouldn't use them. They don't use them because they like them it is because they will work for lower wages then an American at the same job.

One think if we continue to let in immigrants legally or illegally who will work for less then American workers will also have to compete with them on lower wages.
Are you willing to do that? You should think on that.

ok ok im mexican and i was born in atlanta..both of my parents are from mexico but they both have papers now. i know some american people are SO mean that they want all mexicans out. but NOT everybody is mexican. there are millions of salvadorians and guatamalians that are immigrants too. people really need to understand that. its not just mexicans crossing borders.
but yes i agree that workers should be payed more b/c we're the ones that actually work here

It's natural selection, if Americans are too uptight to pick strawberries for 5 cents and hour and then complain that Mexicans are stealing their jobs, they don't deserve those jobs. Illegal immigration works for illegals, it works for companies. This is true laissez faire capitalism at work, if Americans don't like it, they should wave around a hammer and sickle and praise Lenin.

our bridges won't even stand up how do you expect a fortified wall thousands of miles long to work...with such little border patrol??? Even if it did work...a huge wall with armed sentries isn't exacly the America I want to live in...We should do more to make conditions more livable in mexico...by putting pressure on the Mexican Government to get its act together
