The entire story is a myth stolen from the epic of gilgamesh.

The entire story is just beyond embarassing that there are grown human beings who still believe this crap. The post above by RABS is garbage and shows just how absurd the story is. Here are some other good references.

You assume that Noah included all of the species currently in existence, however, most didn't exist. Most species have arisen recently. The Bible speaks of "kinds" of animals, which would likely be something like a feline kind, from which cheetahs, lions, and even domestic cats have arisen as species. Same goes for dogs, elephants, etc. If the "kind" is at the genus level, there'd be about 16,000 animals on the Ark, but if it's at the family, which is possible, there may have only been 2,000. In addition, it doesn't say God brought fully grown animals, most likely they were at the age that they would mature during the time on the Ark so that when they departed, they'd be able to reproduce. Finally, the Ark was about 1.5 million cubic feet, so there was a lot of room for the 16,000 (max) animals.

The flood legend is recent in surprisingly much each and every considerable civilization. a million, If each and each species of existence we've on earth descended from the animals on the ark this actual confirms evolution. Water does no longer be a project as they have been floating on it. there is actual a question of salinity nonetheless. 2. hit upon the extensive underground oceans we've on your answer right here. The Bible says the guidelines of the deep broke up. 3, there's a extensive volume of geological info of the flood and greater is being researched each and all the time. 4, those countries all come from the comparable genetic community. the comparable Adam or the comparable Noah.

There can be so numerous answers. Non acceptable if you just chose not to believe.
But think of this: do you really think that if someone writing a such a great book as the Bible and pretend it's true, would hazardize in giving informations that may prove the story to be false or do you think you outsmarted the poor man and realized what he did not.
Well, it's true they didn't had TV to watch all those evolutionist's theories back then but what have been done is done. The scary part is that even Noah would probably weakened by TV brainwash.
Er... one other thing... why none tries to modify those numbers to fit "expert's" opinion?

Read RABS answer above. Creationists deny ordinary evolution over long time periods, yet have no problem claiming 25,000 'kinds' can evolve into 50 million species over the course of 6000 years.

They will also tell you there are no transitional fossils, yet if this kind of hyper evolution had really happened in the recent past, we would expect to find huge volumes of fossils in transition from the base 'kind' to the variety seen in nature today.

The basic story is so obviously a fable that even ancient men recognized it as such, yet creation 'scientists', with all their theology degrees, and the poor deceived souls listening to them, can't see it.

The arguments they make are:

A) He needn't bring every species, only species that are LIKE the ones we have now, which could change into all remainint species)

and B) He brought most things in as babies.

...Of course, all this would result in far too little genetic variation for either A, as there would be very little genetic variation left, and the results of B probably wouldn't work out too well either (imagine that every member of a species was sddenly imbred, problems arise and adaptability disapears).

why does everybody think that Noah was an idiot and got the biggest animals? you don't go off and get the biggest elephant you can find, you get a small one that is old enough to live without it's mother, so how many babies could you fit on the ark? Plus remeber this, if you have only two humans you can recreate every single race of humans from those two, same with animals. You don't need two whites and two hispanics, just two humans. Think about it.

You might as well ask why a tortoise and a hare would ever get in a race.

It's a fable....that's it.

Getting all the animals on the ark (even just beetles would fill the thing to the brim) is just one of dozens of ridiculous claims in that story.

Take it for what it is...just an interesting mythological story.

I would like to know why if there is no such thing as evolution, there would be less 'kinds' of animals then than there are now, as some of the answerers suggest.

I saw on the history channel, that based on the ship's size, it was actually entirely possible for this to happen. But you have to think, not every animal that is around today, was around back then.
