What you can try that may help:
1. avoid stress - it intensifies the pain
2. practice relaxation techniques
3. relax to music
4. cool, wet vinegar compresses to the area (mix 1 ounce vinegar with one quart cool water) - you can do this 3 times a day
5. a cool bath with oatmeal (Aveeno, available in any drug store) or baking soda
6. lots of rest

None of the above will hurt your baby so they are all safe to use. Congrats on the pregnancy!

your doctor can give you a cortisone shot in the affected area. it will make it feel much better.
