One of my favorite restaurants *in the world* is Dante & Luigi's on 10th:

When my bf & I went there for dinner, we didn't speak for about 10 minutes after our food arrived b/c we were too busy enjoying our meals. When he did finally say something, my bf said, "This is *really* good." Although the prices are not on the online menu, they are pretty reasonable. He had the manicotti. I had the gnocchi. And peach sorbet for dessert.

DELISH!!!!!

There's a suberb Seafood Restaurant on the South Broad Street side of Market Square that's relatively inexpensive and has a variety of fresh fish and some specialty stuff, but I'm not sure if there's much Italian. Try McCormack and Schmicks.

How about Belgiun cuisine? There's this place called Monks on the corner of 16th & Spruce. The food is fantastic ( I reccomend the aAbot burger w/ a tuna steak & a basket of pommes frittes) - why it's good for a 21st b-day....it has about 500 imported beers to choose from w/ a beer bible to help you decide (and I recommend the Allagash Double - yum!!!)

I'd try the Sansom Street Oyster House, near 15 & Sansom. It's been around for ages, large variety, popular, not as expensive as Striped Bass for sure. Nice selection of beer/wine/spirits as well.
