After the Flood, did the various species of moas (extinct) and kiwis (facing extinction) walk or swim? If they did why are the only indigenous mammals of New Zealand bats? If they flew, how did they lose their wings?

moas and kiwis are bad examples of flightless birds in new zealand. they are ratites. they are flightless from way back, gondawanan fauna that probably walked over ancient land bridges to nz from australia (not as difficult as it sounds, considering that a drop in sea level of a few hundred meters connects new zealand to new caledonia). nz has fossil mammals, which did not survive for some reason. other flightless birds such as weka (a rail) or kakapo (a parrot) are better examples of what you're talking about, since they are thought to have lost their power of flight after arriving in nz.

no doubt creationists can spin these somewhat ambiguous facts to fit with their myth.

They walked across the (fictitious) land bridge from Australia, which Creationists suggest existed about 5000 years ago.

Just like all the Australian marsupial and monotreme fauna who walked, hopped, crawled and dug along the (fictitious) land bridge connecting that continent to the Ark's landfall in Asia Minor, only just managing to outrun the placental mammals who were stuck in the Economy section of the Ark, and therefore disembarked last. The placentals also had an elephant stuck in the aisle trying to get her luggage out of the overhead locker for days, which delayed their exit and gave the marsupials and flightless birds a head start.

They don't call it "cattle class" for nothing.

They were probably transported there, just like many of the non-indigenous species.
Examples, the rabbit, horses and many other species.
Even the lowly sparrow was imported from Europe to North America.
