Rissotto or anything with garlic. Also a fruit soup we make in Latvia.

It depends.

If I'm not feeling well I'll usually plump for mashed up weetabix in hot milk with lots of sugar and a large brew.

If I'm just fed up and I want something nice then it's chocolate (usually cadburys dairy milk or kit kats) which are accompanied by a brew(and dipped, in the kit kat's case).

A 'feel like something nice for tea cos I'm fed up' moment would probably lead to large amounts of very buttery mashed potato, peas and faggots cos you can't beat squashy fork food-and it would probably be accompanied by....you guessed it, a brew!

Actually just returned from a woodland outing with someone with a taste for bark fungus and whatever grubs he could catch but this writer returned the favor by showing his own comfort mushroom selections. We has a good medley of flavor and nobody died. Next week, its berry picking time.

Definitely a dinner of baked chicken with thick mashed potatoes soaked in rich brown gravy or, mashed potatoes whipped with sour cream garlic and cheese. My favourite comfort veggie is cauliflower/broccoli mixture in cheese sauce.

For dessert, warm applie pie with 2 huge scoops of french vanilla icecream.

Wow fattening but comforting.

It's incredibly bad for you, but I love to toast a pitta bread, fry some lettuce, bean sprouts, mushrooms, sweetcorn and tomatoes in olive oil, cut open the pitta, tip in the salad, oil and all then sprinkle cheese on top and squish it closed.

Dear God that's yummy.

Comfort me for me has to be either egg custard (my dead mother used to make it for me when I was ill) or kedgeree (I now make it for my wife and kids for comfort food). Spag bol does it too, so does scrambled egg on toast (and porridge). You can make unhappy, sad people a little bit better if you just take them back to their childhood ... Sorry, whoever you are, but it's a very sad world, and we must do whatever we can ...
