Over my many years, I have collected a number of songs that I find inspirational. But I am always looking for more. Currently my favorite is "Up to the Mountain". I much prefer the Patty Griffin version over the Kelly Clarkson version. Patty's is a much more powerful version in my opinion.
Anyway, I was wondering what other non-religious, or religious songs other atheists might find inspirational.

We find songs inspirational in a different way - they don't get us closer to God, but they remind us how delicate human life is, and give us faith in humanity. For instance, Eve of Destruction was written in 1965, and it's still true today. It touches me in the fact history only repeats, and 40 years later we are still at the same place.

Lately I've been on Madlib's Beat Konducta vols 3&4 - "India."
Music intoxicates the soul. I say this as an atheist. The meaning of the words "intoxicates" and "soul" are evident from the context. Even the most hardened materialist surely knows what it's like to be "carried outside yourself" by music or art.

"American Pie" and old spirituals are inspirational to me, but not in a religious sense (even though they are kinda about that). Mostly the spirituals because my choir used to sing them and my conductor used to arrange them for us.

i love music, it's what i live for. i love hey jude, desperado, and this song by a band called wolftron called "uglybird". oh oh oh and the number one most inspirational song ever is "exitlude" by the killers. that piano gets me every time.
